Registration is CLOSED for the 2024 SPRING Lakewood Ranch Under the Lights youth flag football league.   

THERE IS NO SUMMER LEAGUE.  The next season is in the Fall (starting in Mid September) with Registration opening June 1st.

2024 SPRING season which runs from March through May with games taking place on Friday Nights at:

Under the Lights is the ORIGINAL youth flag football partner of Under Armour, Inc.  The league is for both boys and girls from grades Kindergarten to 8th grade of all skill levels and promotes a competitive, confidence building, non-contact football experience.
 

SEASON DATES

SPRING 2024 Season (Registration Opens January 1st & closes February 2nd)

Friday Nights (games start at 6pm and end by 10pm)

May 3, 10 (Championships)

REGISTRATION FEES:

  • $190/player includes a Under Armour game shirt and short
  • $210/player late registration fee ($190+ $20) after February 2nd, if there is room on the rosters (there is no guarantee there will be, or that we will reopen registration).

THERE ARE NO FRIEND OR COACH REQUESTS HONORED IF REGISTRATION HAPPENS AFTER THE REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE (February 2nd).  THOSE PLAYERS WILL BE PLACE IN AN AVAILABLE OPEN ROSTER SPOT.

  • Your child will play every game!
  • Practice an hour before games is mandated by the league.
  • Some teams have optional practice during the week at the coaches option.

Siblings receive a $20 discount (use promo code "SiblingDiscount").  The First Child is at Full Price with the second and additional children utilizing the promo code discount. 

REFUND POLICY:

We at Under the Lights Flag offer the following refunds within these specific timelines. All refund requests must be submitted by email to your League Commissioner.

  • FULL or 100% registration fee refund (excluding transaction fee) if requested 4 weeks prior to kickoff, last day February 9th.
  • HALF or 50% registration fee refund if requested within 4 weeks to kickoff and prior to the 2nd scheduled game of the season not the 2nd week of the season.
  • There is NO rolling of the registration fee to a future season.
  • NO REFUND request submitted and processed after the 2nd game of the season.
  • There is no partial refund for games cancelled due to weather if they are unable to be rescheduled.
  • In the event that the Under the Lights Flag season is canceled prior to the 4th game of the season due to an unforeseen event such as a COVID19 outbreak, then HALF or 50% registration fee refund will be processed. If the season is canceled after the 4th game of the season due to an unforeseen event such as a COVID19 outbreak, NO REFUND will be processed.
  • GENERAL LEAGUE FORMAT
  • Player receives a Under Armour game shirt and shorts
  • Head Coach receives a Under Armour 495 youth football
  • 7 game season plus playoffs or consolation games
  • 6 v 6 format on 25-30 yd wide x 50 yd long fields
  • NO pass rush, just a 4-6 second sack count. Emphasis on the pass game and run game limitations.
  • 9-10 player rosters so everyone plays every game!
  • Practices are held a hour before the games
  • NO Tryouts. NO Drafts. Rosters are formed by "friend" or "coach" request. Single players will be placed on teams with some similarity and familiarity such as same school, neighborhood, organization, etc. as the other players on the team.
  • ALL coaches are volunteer parents and NOT provided by Under the Lights
  • Trophies are awarded to the Champions of the grade/age division
  • Games played in the evenings when possible.
  • Food and music at the games

Rosters:

Teams are formed by participants requesting "friends" and "coaches" to play for during the season.  Friend requests must be made with players that play within the same Division based on their SCHOOL GRADE.   The divisions are as follow (Co-Ed: K-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8; Girls 3-5, 6-8).  Players are not allowed to play down a division under any circumstance.  We do not allow players to play up in Division without the Commissioners and Head Coaches approval.

Please do NOT request a specific coach unless you have had a conversation with them regarding your child joining their team (many coaches have established full rosters already).  All requests must be given on the registration form.  We will work to meet your specific request, but we do not guarantee that any or all of your requests will be met.  REFUNDS will NOT be given if Under the Lights is unable to meet your special request.  

THERE ARE NO FRIEND OR COACH REQUESTS HONORED IF REGISTRATION HAPPENS AFTER THE REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE (February 17th).  THOSE PLAYERS WILL BE PLACE IN AN AVAILABLE OPEN ROSTER SPOT.

Single players will be placed on teams based on some form of familiarity through same school, sports organization, neighborhood etc.

EQUIPMENT:

Players must wear mouthguards for ALL games.  Any player without a mouthguard will not be allowed to participate.

Players must wear shorts/pants with NO pockets.

COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS:

  • All coaches are volunteers and are not provided by Under the Lights Flag League.
  • All Coaches and Volunteers must provide the Commissioner of your league with a current Coaches certification and background check. Each certificate is valid for 1 calendar year. If you need to update or obtain both please use the following links:
